Services
The Forensic Services provides an integrated program of inpatient and outpatient forensic evaluations and reports, education, consultation, expert witness testimony and related activities. Forensic psychologist conduct Court ordered pretrial evaluation for competency to stand trial, degree of criminal responsibility and related forensic services to the adult courts within the hospital's catchment area, and both competency to stand trial evaluation and pre-dispositional psychological studies of juveniles as Court ordered by the juvenile courts. Forensic psychologists and forensically trained behavior specialists provide ongoing forensic evaluation of inpatient clients admitted for pretrial evaluation and those Court ordered here as incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity; and provide education and consultation regarding forensic issues to the treatment teams, the courts and community treatment programs. They coordinate and conduct risk assessments of forensic inpatient clients to help guide and pace treatment planning and delivery.
They participate in the team process regarding forensic inpatient clients to integrate forensic goals into the treatment process and coordinate and facilitate movement towards forensic goals. They continue to monitor forensic inpatient clients conditionally released to community programs and provide annual reassessments to the Court.
The Psychological Services includes psychologists and behavior specialists working under their clinical supervision. Together, they provide a variety of psychological services to mental health inpatient clients across campus, including psychological assessment and testing, program planning and psychological consultation with treatment teams, psychotherapy, behavior management and client education and are actively involved in developing and providing vocational psychological services and other specialized services intended to promote psychosocial rehabilitation within an integrated recovery focus.
