holding handsThe Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) has been designated as the entity to accomplish licensing/permit protocols and associated procedures for Crisis Stabilization Units (Authority O.C.G.A. Sec. 37-1-29) as well as Emergency Receiving, Evaluation, and Treatment Facilities (Authority O.C.G.A. Sec. 37-3-40, 37-3-60, 37-3-80) for the State of Georgia. A targeted team within DBHDD, known as the Behavioral Health Licensing Unit (BHLU), has been created to carry out these functions. This website is designed to guide and assist you through the application/licensing process.
